By February 2023, the initial construction phase was completed, and THE YARD Skatepark was launched, opening its doors on April 1st, 2023.

Yet, our journey is far from over, and we invite you to play an integral role in our ongoing mission. In the upcoming months of January and February 2024, we are gearing up for the crucial second and final construction phase, the ultimate step in bringing THE YARD Skatepark to its completion.

The entire construction is expected to take approximately a month, and we welcome professional skatepark builders, inviting them to assist us without any charges.

With your valuable support, we provide an accessible and secure skate facility, one that empowers the next generation to advance their surfing abilities and offers an alternative to idling away their time. Through this initiative, we're fostering an environment of excitement and vitality within our community.

For over three years, we've maintained communication with both politicians and private landowners in our quest to locate suitable and affordable land. In the middle of 2022, a resident of Polhena generously offered us a portion of their property. After careful consideration, we established a 10-year rental agreement. By February 2023, the initial construction phase was completed, and THE YARD Skatepark was launched, opening its doors on April 1st, 2023.

Why are we so dedicated to this cause?

• Unemployment poses a significant challenge in this region, leading many youths to contend with their challenges through excessive alcohol and drug consumption.

• Accessibility to surfing is limited for most local children due to inadequate swimming skills and financial constraints.

• The prime surfing season encompassing Polhena and Madiha falls solely between November and April, leaving the remaining months with no rideable waves.

• Currently, the options for skating in proximity consist of busy roads or a supermarket parking lot. The nearest skatepark is inconveniently distant for the youth to access by foot, and the lack of skateboards or surf skates further complicates matters.

We are aiming to secure the necessary funding by November 30th to initiate construction in January 2024
