Hello. My name is Anupama Madhubhashinie also known as Anu Madhubhashinie, and I’m an independent artist, writer, and performer.

Broken in to the musical industry almost by accident yet in wonderfully favorable circumstances, I have decided to pursue the passion in me of creating raw and rare original music with some kindred folk who are around me.

What I aim to gain through making my own style in song, is to bring healing and perspective to my loving audiences. Miduna is one of those relative and reciprocal ventures. As an independent artist, it is definitely an uphill climb to make sound progress, especially being an abstract persona like myself. To make my debut Sinhala Official Music video a reality, we need your support and generosity.

Miduna is an anthem of freedom, renewal, and an ode to liberty. At first glance, it speaks of the narrator's liberty from a toxic relationship; however, the song figuratively portrays breakthrough in mental health, a negative stronghold, a toxic past and opening a new chapter of life.

I wish to release Miduna as a singularly narrated figurative story-line with plenty of symbols and imagery, so that the core of the song can relate to everyone who views and listens to it sans hindrance to the music.

I’m a vocalist, lyricist, composer, dancer/choreographer and writer among many other things.

I was able to release Miduna in January 2020 with the generosity of some very dear friends. In July 2020 I released my first English original single “..in to the Rhythm”, also made with close friends, and the music video was a simple one featuring my family and friends, shot on an iPhone11.

I also teach Indian Classical and Folk Dancing, am a freelance writer and proof reader, and compere.

Due to the current pandemic, most opportunities to perform live , most dance lessons I formulated, most writing projects for the travel trade, events and occasions went down the hill, were cancelled and called off due to obvious reasons, and hence I lost gain in both monetary and personal aspects since March 2020. It would be a great joy to complete our “Miduna” journey by releasing it’s much awaited Official Music Video, so that I can resume- with my friends and family- the journey that was thwarted.

I am Anupama Madhubhashinie, independent vocalist/lyricist/composer, dancer/choreographer, writer/proof-reader, compere/speaker and avid learner.

An academic as an instructor of English Literature for 7 years, I decided to let go of the relative monotony and venture into my other passions mentioned above, in order to pursue my purpose.

I currently work with Wave Park Records- a platform built by friends, teach/choreograph dance under my label “Dance with Anu” which is mostly done virtually, and as a freelance writer to a couple of national organizations.
