Research has found that we are losing chunks of forest the size of a soccer field every second to deforestation, globally. With the loss of ability to regulate CO2 caused by this deforestation, it is evident that it has started creating chain reactions of global warming such as droughts, irregular rains, increased wildfire, lack of drinking water, reduced crop yields and many other issues threatening the quality of life and also the human existence.
In Sri Lanka alone, we are losing an average of 26,800 hectares of forest cover per year. In this Pilot Project, our organization has scheduled to plant 20,000 trees to participate World Day to Combat Desertification & Drought on June 17th 2022 with the help of Your Generous Donations, with the help of Grama Nildhari (Government Village Officers), and villagers of Sri Lanka. Trees will be provided free of cost.
There are 2 different ways where you can participate in donating to this endeavor.
1. The tree is labeled under your name or your company’s name. From each plant we will take a picture and send it to your email address will be distributed free of charge to villagers. You will be able to see your name or your company name tagged on little trees.
2. Or you can order your little trees directly from us and then we can supply your count directly to you. We can supply your little trees to your doorstep if you order more than 50 tree plants.
The trees we have planned to plant are Jack Fruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus), Mango (Mangifera indica), Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum), Weralu (Elaeocarpus serratus), etc, and with Nationally Threatened Tree Species of Sri Lanka named by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Sri Lanka.
Tree planting is the one of the most effective ways of a healthy ecosystem on Earth and to reduce man made Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Our long term goal is to plant 20 MILLION Trees around Sri Lanka in the next 10 years with the help of you, so our wonderful Mother Earth can breathe again….
