"The number of children with disabilities in Sri Lanka due to various complications is very large. Among these, many children are born with disabilities, and some other children suffer from various disabilities as they grow older. According to the statistics from the Family Health Bureau of the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka, the percentage of children with defects was 30.7% in 2020, 24.6% in 2021, and 28.3% in 2022.
Among these, a significant number of children have walking disabilities. Consequently, some complications in the legs of children with walking disabilities can be prevented by using orthosis devices in the long term. However, due to parents' lack of knowledge about these orthosis devices and their financial constraints in purchasing them, these children lose the opportunity to walk. It is a sad fact that children who have the ability to avoid disability through the use of a device live as disabled for the rest of their lives. Furthermore, with the aid of these devices, some children are able to walk despite their disabilities. Can you imagine the mental state of a child who is confined to one place due to a disability while others of the same age are actively performing their tasks?
In order to address this pressing issue, we have launched a project focusing on children with walking disabilities in Kandy district, who cannot afford orthosis devices. The project aims to provide 50 children with walking disabilities in the Kandy district with orthosis devices, enabling them to stand on their feet and experience the joy of mobility. These devices will significantly improve their quality of life and empower them to engage in various activities.
We invite you to be a source of strength for the future generation, who are striving to make their dreams come true. Your generous support can make a profound difference in the lives of these children. By making a donation, you can contribute directly to make orthosis devices for the selected children. Every donation, no matter the size, matters greatly and will be used to provide essential assistance to those in need. Donate today and be a part of positive change.
